An article is for detail, original, informational argument or description on a topic.  You may starts a discussion for brief comments.  Post a link instead if your article is not original.

The aim of article pages is to create a body of knowledge like Wikipedia, a centralized knowledge base for knowledge of all humanity.  However, unlike Wikipedia, Voofie welcomes duplication of articles as different author may have different perspectives, analysis and personal point of view on the same topic.

Special features for Article Pages

There are several features that are only available to article pages.

Save Draft

As articles are lengthier and require more time to write, Voofie provides the functionality of draft-saving for you to save your work so that you can continue working on your article later.  To save a draft, press "Save Draft" button.  You can access the saved draft in "Manage Post" page, which you can find in your profile page.

Versioning

Revision of articles will be kept tracked with versioning. Other users can view the history of the article to see how the article is amended.  Difference between versions can be visualized using version comparison.

Inline comments

Besides the normal comments that appear after the articles, you can comment on specific sentences by adding inline comments.  As inline comments refer to specific sentences, so please use it if you want to suggest the author some improvements (such as adding a link, correcting a typo or requesting citations), while main comments are used to give overall comments on the article.

Please note that inline comments are specific to article versions, which means the inline comments will not automatically appears on new version after the article being edited by author.

Question

Question posts are for asking questions with an objective answer. For open-ended questions that do not have a definite answer, post a discussion instead.  Try to search for similar questions as other users may have asked the same question before.

For answers, in addition to being voted up and down similar to comments, answers can also be selected as the "Best Answer" by the user who asked the question.  Answering questions which are asked by experts will gain you higher impact factors when your answer is selected as the "Best Answer".

Link

If you find a web page interesting and would like to share with others, it is better to post a link than copy & paste the content to Voofie.  Doing so not only to respect intellectual properties, but also to save your time and preserve the original formatting of the page.  To discourage copy & paste the whole web page, such behaviour is considered as abusing and may subject to deduction in your impact factor.

A link should consist of a summary that briefly describe the content of the linked page.  Try to summarize the target page in a few sentences.  Of course if you do not want to do so, it is also acceptable to copy and paste the first few sentences.
