Navigation and Searching in Voofie
Voofie aims at providing users novel, userful and powerful navigation and searching experiences. This article outlines the features of our navigating and searching system and how to make the best use of it.

Suppose you want to search for the best contents of Computer Science, typing “Computer Science” in Google may not return what you want as it only returns documents containing these two words. It does not return a lot of related documents but a lot irrelevant results. However, with the semantic tags and powerful search functions on Voofie, you will be able to get access to a better result by focusing on what concepts the post actually covers.
Navigation
Voofie's content comprises different posts submitted by users, and navigation in Voofie means how you jump from one page to the another page. In Voofie there are some tools helping you to locate similar resources.
Tag Page
For each tag, there is a page listing all the posts under the same tag. Just click on the tags to access its page. For concept tag page, there is also a list of users who gain high impact on that concept so that you can access their posts easily.
Category Page
You may be interested in reading posts on a broad topic, such as "Physics" or "Finance". However, for concept tag page, you can only view posts tagged with that particular concept. To facilitate an easier viewing of similar concepts, Voofie provides with the function of category page. The Voofie team classifies each concept tag into a few categories, for example, "Bioinformatics" is being classified into "Biochemistry", "Biotechnology" and "Computer Science"; and all posts tagged with "Bioinformatics" will be appeared in these three categories. Under the system, a tree structure is being developed by all categories, where a parent cateogry includes all the posts from its child category. Hence, "Science" category covers all the posts in "Physics".
User Page
User page includes all the posts for the user. The user may put up a lot posts by different tags. To locate the posts you are interested in, use the tag filter in the user page.

There is two filters, tag filter and date filter.
Tag filter
The tag filter shows all the tags being used by the user and the user's impact factor on that concept. If you select "All", then all the post will be displayed. Select one or multiple tags to filter out the post you want.
Date filter
Click on the "By date" tab to reveal the date filter. You can then select the date to view the posts being put up on that month.
Searching
Voofie's search function is well beyond a simple keyword search. Different kinds of searching can be accomplished in the search bar. For each search, you can include both tag and keyword. When you include a tag, you are able to search for posts with that tag. On the contrary, when you search by keyword, posts comprise that keyword can be found.
Select search tags
By using search bar on the top of each page, you can add tags into your search. When you type in the search bar, tags will be suggested automatically. Select the tag you want and then it will be appeared on the top of the search bar.

Only tags being used before can be able to appear in the search bar. To add tags in the search bar, you can click the suggested tags from the search bar, or click on the "+" button besides each tag.

A tag search cannot get what you want? Perhaps you can try using a traditional keyword search. Just type the keyword you want to search for in the search bar, select the first option "Keyword:", then the keyword will be added to the search.
